Q21: How to manage WOOWEB-PRO remotely?

As WOOWEB-PRO does not include it's own web server, we recommend to use VNC, an open and free remote-control software, which is available from several web sites. An enhanced version can be freely downloaded from TridiaVNC and TightVNC. We provide ProVNC, our own VNC server for Windows, which is fast, supports all compression-types and works as well with VNC viewer as with Internet browsers, which is not the case of all available products.

ProVNC has been tested with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0+ and Netscape 4.0+.

The installation of ProVNC on the computer running WOOWEB-PRO takes no more than one minute. Run pvncinst.exe and follow the instructions. Set the password. Then this computer - and by this way the management interface of WOOWEB-PRO - becomes accessible from anywhere by using an Internet browser or any VNC viewer.

For example, let us say that WOOWEB-PRO is installed in a computer whose IP address is 192.168.1.126. We suppose that ProVNC is running on this computer.

=> From another machine attached on the same LAN:

• In a VNCviewer, type 192.168.1.126 and fill in the password you set up when installing ProVNC.
• In the address field of an Internet browser, type http://192.168.1.126:5800 and fill in the VNC password.
